The cool kids of Miami have always had a special place in their heart chakras for Purdy Ave. Especially if they remember the hood before it was filled with high-end stuffs.
Now that we've all grown up a bit, we go to Sunset Harbor (not to smoke and drink ourselves to death) nay, dear reader. We go there for cold pressed juices for our cleanse and cold brewed coffee. And acupuncture.
And this afternoon you will go there for a community bike ride with the cool kids from Purdy Ave. The group meets at 7:15 pm at the marina. Wear your Purdy Ave gear. Ride into the sunset.
Click here to RSVP to the event. It's free.
We really like these tshirts. The third eye caught our eye in what we are sure is clear, direct communication from the Illuminati.

Bhagavan Das Cancels Miami Beach Show
Bummer. Bhagavan Das has cancelled his stops in Miami Beach that were scheduled for this weekend. We caught him last year at Synergy Yoga and really enjoyed the show.
You basically have not lived until you've had Bhagavan Das screaming at you, "YOU WANNA TRIP OUT?? TRIP IN!!".
Here's the official word we received from Kali yesterday:

iBamboo: All Natural Speaker for Your iPhone
It's not easy living in Miami. With virtually 365 days of perpetual beach weather, we're faced with big decisions - like how to amplify our tunes on the beach without dragging out a set of speakers.
Enter iBamboo, a wireless, electricity-free speaker that uses the length of a hollowed out bamboo stalk to amplify sound from your iPhone's built-in speaker.
My friend pulled one of these out on the beach the other day and I've been obsessed ever since. They also make a pretty rad bamboo iPhone case.
They reached their funding goal on kickstarter.com a few months ago - check out their website to pick up your own. They also have an Etsy.com storefront.
Follow iBamboo on Facebook and Twitter.

Om Nom Nom New Vegan Cookies in Miami
Yum, there's a new brand of delicious vegan cookies in town. I was wandering around Surfside this morning and stopped in at Bal Harbour Juice* because I had the munchies.
Om Nom Nom Cookies caught my eye because of the name. (I find this quite hilarious in more inappropriate contexts.) I picked up an Orange Zest Chocolate Chip and a Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal.

Morning Meditations: CSI Miami
This morning while walking on the beach walk I came across CSI: Miami (the real unit, not the show) parked behind the Deauville Beach Resort at 68th and Collins Ave.
Curious, I went out to the sand and was promptly stopped by a security guard. I asked what was going on and the guy said, "Naked dead body."
I asked, "Guy or girl?"
He responded, "Guy. It's always a guy."
That's a bummer way to start the day for all parties involved. You can see the camera guy in front filming, so I suppose there will be some details released shortly.
The Miami Herald just released this if you'd like to read more.
UPDATE: MIAMI NEW TIMES has more.

Full Moon Drum Circle at Miami SoHo House
| Full Moon over Miami Beach, May 2011. |
This wasn't our first time here, this member's only club is a great Sunday beach hangout and if you're under 27 yrs old - is the place to be on Mondays (everything is 50% including spa services.)
We were a little surprised at the number of people sneaking in - as the place filled up people openly bragged about not being members or guests of members, but still making it through the doors.
The Drum Circle was actually held in the back garden area rather than the beach. See below for a short video of the action.

Wanderlust at The Standard - Elena Brower & Schuyler Grant
Just finished up an evening yoga session with Elena Brower & Schuyler Grant at The Standard. Great first day at Wanderlust Festival in Miami Beach. The crowd today was really chill. Schuyler was giving amazing adjustments, not too heavy but just very intuitive and well - pretty "in" there if you know what I mean. I basically feel like I got to second base with her.
Very much looking forward to tomorrow. NamasteMiami.com will simultaneously be in Garth Stevenson's 8 a.m. meditation and Cameron Shayne's Budokon class. We'll see how the rest of the day unfolds from there. We'll keep you posted.
