Where to Get Your Down Dog On Miami Yogis

Ahh, Miami. A very sunny place filled with shady people. We love this city and you should, too.

With that being said, we don't necessarily love all of the yoga happening around the 305. But this post isn't about those we loathe, it is about those we love - so if we don't have anything nice to say about you, we just won't say anything at all.

Mano's 6:30* pm class on Wednesday has been on our hit list for a while. We've got quite a few mutual friends and we really, really have been meaning to take a class from him, so this season we're going to make it happen and hopefully write a proper studio review.

Plus, he's got really pretty eyes.

Michael Stone: Awake in the World & Kickin' It in SoBe

According to the Kindle we are 16% of the way through Buddhist, Yogi and Psychotherapist Michael Stone's latest read, 'Awake in the World'.

According to our calculations we have t-minus 19.5 hours to finish the final 84% of the book before he begins his weekend workshop at Miami Life Center.

If a full weekend is too much of a commitment, you can enter à la carte for $40 a session - a small price to pay for a fling to flirt with fully experiencing the here and now.

Considering that it feels like this is about how far we've come in our practice, we'll prob drop in for a session or two.

OM THREADS: Event Series Begins This Weekend

This Saturday night Om Threads will kick-off their summer-long series of events at Miami Life Center.

These spiritual soirées will include a live DJ, special shopping discounts on clothing and class cards plus tons of free givaways.

Miami Life Center is upping the ante by also offering 20% off of the MLC boutique and  a $99 Unlimited Monthly Yoga Package.

Live music will be provided by Stell*R aka Pablo Lucero Yoga (pictured left).

Miami Yogi Feature - Daylene Christensen

Get to know Miami Life Center's Daylene Christensen a little better in this video bio that came across Facebook's news feed last week.

We've never taken a class with her but are looking forward to catching one in the very near future. She seems intense and fun - our kind of people.

This video of Daylene also comes up when you Google her, which is very much worth a watch. The place she's in looks totally familiar...

Tim Miller Coming to Miami Life Center

Ashtanga Master Tim Miller will be at Miami Life Center this weekend for a workshop - kind of a bummer it's Memorial Day Weekend.

Miamians know that this is the one weekend in the year to get the hell out of Miami - especially South Beach. If you're not sure what we're talking about, just Google "Hip Hop Weekend Miami" and see all of the frightening headlines pop up of people being shot and stabbed (yes, both).

Also a weird bummer that when you Google "Tim Miller Yoga" one of the first search results that pops up is "Tim Miller, Yoga Criminal?!?"

Anyway - Follow the Jump for the full breakdown of the workshop. Scheduling and the fear of bodily harm prevents us from attending the entire workshop but we may pop in for the Friday night session.
