Krishna Das Brings #KirtanWallah to MIA This Weekend

This Friday and Saturday night you have the chance to be in the presence of pure kirtan greatness... a living legend... the King of Kirtan himself... may we present KRISHNA DAS!!

As a loyal follower of this blog, you know of our, ahem, affinity towards KD so we'll spare you the rant this morning.

The important thing is that you procure your tickets and journey to one or both of his sessions. You can find information on them here

He will be at Unity on the Bay Friday night and then in North Miami Beach at the Littman Theater on Saturday.

At the request of his people, please make sure to hashtag all of your social media posts with #KirtanWallah

Please #KeepYogaWeird Miami

Hey, posers yogis. It's us. You know, the friends you de-friended from Facebook. We have quite a bit to tell you, and not much of it is about Miami.

Is it because we have been banned from every juice bar in the 305? No. It's because our yogic inspiration is at an all time low (awkward!).

But never fear! We can still dish out some pretty cool caca. So here it goes:

Wanderlust Festival has a #KeepYogaWeird contest happening right now, and we beg you to enter. Please, for the sake of our Miami yoga soul, revive us by entering this contest and sending us your photos. We will tweet them to our infinity of followers. PINKY SWEAR!

Krishna Das Live in Miami - Feb 2011

First blog post created from my iPhone's blogging app - looking forward to being much more mobile.

As you can see, we didn't have the best seats in the house to KD.

Krishna Das Performing Tonight at the Littman Theater

Yoga rock star Krishna Das is performing tonight in North Miami Beach. The show is taking place at the Littman Theater.

We were there last year for the show and will be there this evening for the King of Kirtan's annual visit to our city. He was in town last year for Mahashivaratri Convergence - it must be a tradition?

The show starts at 8 p.m. and the doors will open at 7:30 p.m. - depending on how long our feast lasts at The Greek Place in Surfside, we're definitely going to try to be early so we can grab a good seat.

Advance tickets were available online for $30, but if you didn't grab yours before 5 p.m. yesterday, now they will cost you $35 at the door. RAM RAM.

Krishna Das at Unity on the Bay

So we were a little late getting to Krishna Das this past Saturday due to a documented run in with the food trucks in Miami.

Here is a 30 sec video of the King of Kirtan - I didn't have the best seat in the house due to my late arrival, but the video is still beautiful and does do justice. I wish I would have been recording during the more candid moments, but I was so enthralled with KD speaking so openly, I didn't want to pull out the iPhone and hit "record". One of the most beautiful references he made to the reason he does what he does (aside from making kirtan and red flannel sexy) stems from this Rumi poem. You learn something new every day. Enjoy.

You Can't Escape the "OM" This Week in Miami

The King of Kirtan, Krishna Das
Wow. Krishna Das, John Friend & Seane Corn in Miami this weekend? There is SO much going on, it's hard to keep it all straight. Here is a complete run down of all of the Namaste-ing that will be going on in and around the 305 over the next few days. Please Email Us if we left anyone out!
