We would like to give a sandy, warm welcome to Briohny Smyth & Dice Iida-Klein to our sunny shores this weekend - they'll be giving workshops and master classes from South Miami to Midtown, all the way to Miami Beach.
We LOVE Dice's classes on YogaGlo.com - it's kinda weird because in a way we feel like we already know him. Not to mention Briohny, who's Equinox yoga video incited yogi envy/outrage across the globe.
Nice to see some great teachers making the pilgrimage down here to pop Miami's incestuous yoga bubble. FRESH MEAT!!
Planning to catch the Friday class in South Beach - click here for more info on the who, what, when and where. Have fun, stay safe and party on, Miami Yogis.

Bummer! We just received word that Jai is sick and will not be coming to Miami after all. It looks like The Mayapuris are still coming to town and putting on their show. Not sure about Daniel Paul. Here's the word from Synergy:

Krishna Das Live in Miami - Feb 2011
First blog post created from my iPhone's blogging app - looking forward to being much more mobile.
As you can see, we didn't have the best seats in the house to KD.

Krishna Das Performing Tonight at the Littman Theater
Yoga rock star Krishna Das is performing tonight in North Miami Beach. The show is taking place at the Littman Theater.
We were there last year for the show and will be there this evening for the King of Kirtan's annual visit to our city. He was in town last year for Mahashivaratri Convergence - it must be a tradition?
The show starts at 8 p.m. and the doors will open at 7:30 p.m. - depending on how long our feast lasts at The Greek Place in Surfside, we're definitely going to try to be early so we can grab a good seat.
Advance tickets were available online for $30, but if you didn't grab yours before 5 p.m. yesterday, now they will cost you $35 at the door. RAM RAM.

John Friend Workshop Wraps in Miami
We were there today for John Friend's final class before he takes "the next few months" off for reasons you already know. During the opening of the session, in a very brief display of emotion, he vaguely addressed his current situation and the fact that this would be the last class he'd be teaching for a while.
And that's basically it. He was overall positive and upbeat without seeming obnoxious or egotistical. It was a solid workshop. He did a pretty brilliant job of tying in the upcoming Mahashivaratri into his current situation, while still being vague and not giving any specific details other than he was going to "go into the dark" for a while before he comes back out into the light.
