Happy Buddha Hidden Reiki Circle at Synergy SoBe

Namaste Miami Yogis.

There is no point to this post other than the fact that we really wanted to post this awesome photograph. Look at him. He's so happy. Why is he smiling?

Why is there a chopstick poking out of that aloe plant? To hold it up, of course. It's like a giant aloe vera monster.

And we wanted to bump the YogaAid post down. It's SO over.

So, what's good tonight? Well there's a Reiki circle happening at Synergy on Española Way that we thought we were going to but after searching online we can't find the link to it?

A secret Reiki circle? Maybe. Invitation only? Not sure.  We'll have to do some more research and keep you posted on our Twitter account. Or if you know the details, let us know in the comments below!! WHEE!!!

The Down Dog Days of Miami Beach Summer

We owe you somewhat of an apology for our, ahem, hiatus on posting this summer. You know, we've put some things up here and there but if you really read our blog (we know you do) you can probably see our heart, soul and high blood alcohol content just hasn't been poured into it with the same zeal.

Consider it a creative hiatus (re: high-atus)  where we've been recharging our environmentally-friendly batteries. Refer to our Twitter account if you'd like a blow by blow on what we've really been up to.

It's taken three energy healers, an acupuncturist who moonlights as a shaman and a magical silver chariot to get us back in front of the MacBook so that genius may once again spew through our fingertips.

Your kind notes and cessation of hate mail have truly been a breath of fresh air. Namaste.

Looking to the East to Solve Your Problems in the West?

Very much looking forward to this one hitting our Netflix queue.

When we first came across the trailer for Kumaré we couldn't help but laugh out loud.

It wouldn't hurt every single yogi/spiritual seeker to watch this flick (or at least the trailer!) and then take a good. hard. look. at their own teachers. Just saying.

In Kumaré: The True Story of a False Prophet, filmmaker Vikram Gandhi seeks to explore the question of human spirituality by impersonating a "wise Indian Guru" named Kumaré. We're assuming a wide range of emotion (hilarity!) ensues. See below for the movie trailer.

We remember the exact moment our idolization of yoga teachers was shattered. We were in the Kinko's on Alton Road about six years ago when a certain Jivamukti teacher came in having a nervous breakdown on her cell phone. She was screaming so loudly that the bindi flew off of her forehead. You know who you are. Freak.

Get to know Miami Life Center's Daylene Christensen a little better in this video bio that came across Facebook's news feed last week.

We've never taken a class with her but are looking forward to catching one in the very near future. She seems intense and fun - our kind of people.
